Closing the Curtain on an Epic 2024 Season: Year in Review

As the frosty winds of December settle in, we have officially brought the 2024 season to a close. It’s always bittersweet to pull the boat from the water.  As we look back on the adventures we’ve had this year, we can’t help but feel immense gratitude and pride.

From the first cast in April to the final haul of tautog in November, 2024 was nothing short of epic. Captain Gaige and first mate Kory want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to every single guest who joined us aboard the charter. Whether it was your first trip or one of many, you made this season unforgettable.

This year, we tackled everything the Long Island Sound threw at us. Striped bass blitzes that lit up the horizon, epic bottom fishing summer days, and some thrilling battles with gator bluefish. We even threw in some spearfishing adventures and a few memorable wildlife encounters. (yes, Captain Gaige still talks about being bitten by that cormorant).

To honor the incredible memories made, we’ll be posting a collection of videos and photos from this season. From sunrise departures to the smiles that followed a big catch of a lifetime.  These moments capture the heart and soul of what Sand City Fishing Charter is all about. Looking Ahead to 2025

While the boat may be on land for the winter, the countdown is already on. April 15, 2025, marks the start of a brand-new season, and opening day for striped bass fishing is shaping up to be as exciting as ever. We’re busy winterizing the boat, preparing our gear.   Check out our weekly podcast Bay Rats and Buoys on our youtube channel.
