Captain’s Weekly Fishing Report May 22, 2024
May 23, 2024Fishing Report May 15: Sand City Charter, Huntington Harbor
Despite some challenging weather and winds this past week, Captain Gaige and the team at Sand City Charter made the most of the conditions and had some great success on the waters of Huntington Harbor. With limited windows available, we ventured out and landed some impressive bass, including catches up to 40 lbs.
The fluke fishing has been particularly rewarding. Anglers using live killies as bait found fluke ranging from 17” to 20” in shallower, warmer waters, indicating a very solid bite. Moreover, this week marked the start of the weakfish season, and we’re thrilled to begin targeting them in our local waters.
