Captain Gaige is putting people on the catch of a lifetime these days! Fishing on the north shore of Long Island is lights out right now with pods of bunker showing up on the surface, getting chased by giant striped bass. The topwater action is a ton of fun, and we’ve had an incredible week with two personal bests for Sand City Charters: a 47-inch and a 44-inch striped bass!
We’re just getting started, and it’s heating up. We’ve just ordered a scale to weigh huge fish without lifting them vertically, as we like to catch and safely release these giant bass. We’ve also started tagging them to contribute to conservation efforts.
The weakfish bite is heating up, and anglers are catching keeper fluke and giant porgies in our area. Jump on board and let’s have some fun this season with Captain Gaige and Sand City Charters, sailing 7 days a week out of Huntington Harbor. Don’t miss out on the action!
