June 5, 2024Greetings from Huntington Harbor! This week has been another fantastic adventure with Sand City Charter Fishing, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting catches and memorable moments from our trips.
**Chris’s First Striped Bass**
One of the highlights of the week was Chris landing his first striped bass. Measuring a whopping 33 inches and weighing in at 12 pounds, this beauty was caught using a flutter spoon. Chris has been perfecting his technique, and it certainly paid off. Not only was this a personal milestone for Chris, but it was also a first for Captain Gaige and the crew as we tagged and safely released the fish. We hope to see this striped bass again someday!
**Ethan’s Triumph**
Another exciting catch was by 12-year-old Ethan, who landed his first striped bass of the season. Also using a flutter spoon, Ethan’s catch was fully captured on our Sand City GoPro. The joy and excitement on his face made it a moment to remember for everyone on board. Well done, Ethan!
**Success for the “Why Knot” Crew**
Eric Hernandez of the 380 Outrage “Why Knot” had a fantastic outing as well. He helped his good buddy Mike land his first bass while trolling with an umbrella rig in the Long Island Sound. It’s always great to see friends sharing the thrill of a successful catch.
**Bunker Arrival and New Techniques**
