Captain’s Weekly Fishing Report September 5, 2024

This weekend’s charters were filled with non-stop action, especially when it came to bottom fishing for fluke, porgy, and sea bass! Sunday morning was a standout, with Oscar, his 11-year-old son Dylan, and his three friends aboard. They

had the time of their lives, catching an astonishing 250 fish in just four hours! The rods were bending with every drop of the bait, and it seemed like each guest was reeling up two fish at a time. The excitement on deck was absolutely

incredible!

In other news, the flashy false albacore made their appearance this week in the Long Island Sound just outside of Oyster Bay, putting on a show for those lucky enough to spot them. Meanwhile, the big blues and striped bass have been

gorging on bait right here in our bay, providing some fantastic action for anglers.

As we enjoy these cooler nights, the water temperature is starting to drop—a promising sign for the upcoming fall season. With the fall run kicking off on September 22, we’re gearing up and getting ready for what’s sure to be an exciting

time on the water. Wishing everyone bent rods, tight lines and we’ll see you out on the water!
