October 23, 2024Captain’s Weekly Fishing Report Nov. 7, 2024
November 7, 2024This week, the blackfish bite remains red hot in our area! Anglers have had consistent success, and it’s a great time to target these tasty fish as the season continues in full swing. Along with the action on the blackfish grounds the back bays have come alive in an explosion of bait, drawing in cormorants, gulls, striped bass, and cocktail blues. This feeding frenzy created an insane topwater bite, providing an unforgettable light tackle experience for our anglers.
For three straight days, at sunrise and sunset the striped bass were relentlessly hammering pods of bunker in the back bays, with bass after bass breaking the surface. However, today, things took a turn when a 300-pound seal made its presence known, silencing the action almost immediately. This unexpected guest reminded us that water temps are dropping and we’re sharing these waters with a wide range of marine life!
The action’s been unpredictable but thrilling—perfect for anglers looking for both quantity and quality on the water. Grab your gear and join us on the next trip.
