This week at Sand City Charter has been nothing short of exciting, with both returning guests and new faces experiencing the thrill of the catch.
Ryan and His Sons Return
We were thrilled to welcome back Ryan and his three sons from last season. Logan, 8, and Nicholas, 11, kept things lively by competing for the title of high hook. The highlight of their trip was undoubtedly Logan landing his first striped bass ever while bottom fishing for fluke—an awesome bycatch! This unexpected bonus catch is a reminder of the surprises the sea holds.
Tony’s Big Catch
Meanwhile, Tony from our marina experienced a similar surprise, hooking a sizeable striped bass on a fluke rig. It’s not uncommon in our waters to land a big bass while targeting other species, making each trip unpredictable and exciting.
Success with Jan P and Crew
Jan P and his crew also had a successful outing, reeling in some nice-sized striped bass. The bite remains strong in our area, thanks in part to the abundance of baitfish like bunker, butterfish, and the recent worm hatches keeping the predators well-fed and active.
Anton and Anton Jr. joined Captain Gaige and Kory Saturday morning for an epic fishing adventure. It was their first time fishing and Anton Jr. had high hook catching too many fish to count!
