Hello, fellow anglers! Since mid-April, we at Sand City Charter have had incredible success targeting and catching striped bass on every trip. Our guests have enjoyed the thrill of battling these powerful fish and reeling in some impressive catches.

However, this week started with a twist. On Monday’s 8 AM-12 PM charter we got skunked, we didn’t spot any striped bass in our usual areas. It was a surprising change, especially after last Friday, when our rods were bending and the big bass were aggressively biting! Despite this hiccup, we’re committed to continuing our hunt for the elusive striper. We will also be targeting bluefish, focusing on specific tides to increase our chances of success.

Our recent baits included live bunker, croakers, live eels, bunker chunks, and peanut bunker. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the fish stacked as they have been in previous weeks. But that’s the nature of fishing—always a challenge, always exciting.

Looking ahead, we have some bottom fishing charters lined up for the weekend, targeting Black Sea bass, fluke, and porgies. These trips promise a lot of action and variety, so we’re excited to see what the waters have in store for us.

For those who prefer the mystery and excitement of night fishing, Sand City offers night trips for stripers and blues. We’ll be leaving the dock around 8 PM and returning around midnight. If you’re interested in joining us for one of these night
