Captain’s Weekly Fishing Report Sept. 26 2024
September 26, 2024This week, our focus was on hunting for false albacore and Spanish mackerel. On Friday, we successfully found the Spanish mackerel, while the cocktail blues kept the action going all day long! Black sea bass fishing remains excellent in our area, and we were even treated to the sight of a huge pod of dolphins cruising through.
Saturday brought back familiar faces—Anton and Anton Jr.—for their third trip with us this season. We had a blast bottom fishing for black sea bass, adding another memorable day to their tally.
Sunday was all about family fun when Kara, Dan, Parker, Max, Lilly, and Papa Doug joined us for an epic adventure. Papa Doug kicked off the day in the back bay, casting for stripers and showing off his fishing skills to his grandkids, though the stripers weren’t biting on topwater. We then headed to our fishing grounds, just minutes from the harbor, where 4-year-old Lilly stole the show. She wielded her small dock runner Ugly Stik rod like a pro, outshining the adults. The kids dominated the day, catching over 100 fish, including porgy, fluke, black sea bass, blowfish, spot (aka croaker), and even one sea robin.
All the action was captured on our GoPros, and some of the highlights are featured in this week’s video report.
