May 8, 2025Striped Bass Fishing Is Red Hot in Long Island Sound—Book Your Charter Now!
Last week was one for the books aboard Sand City Fishing Charter! The striped bass fishing action kicked off strong Monday when Kory landed a fat 38-inch bass, giving him a serious case of bass thumb—if you know, you know! The bite stayed hot through the week, with Dylan and Shelly getting on a solid body of fish Wednesday. Both the flutter spoon and trolling produced, but the gold flutter spoon proved to be the most productive, while the chartreuse mojo on the troll brought some great fish to the boat. Pro tip: always switch up your colors as conditions change to stay on the bite!
We’re seeing prime fishing conditions right now in the Long Island Sound, with water temperatures holding steady around 55°. The fish are here, they’re hungry, and they’re chewing! On the last day of the spring blackfish bite, Charles managed to land a beautiful 12.5-pound blackfish right from the beach—way to go, Charles!
