Captain’s Weekly Fishing Report Nov. 21, 2024
November 20, 2024Fishing along the North Shore remains excellent this week! The birds are still working, and the striped bass are still here, giving anglers plenty of action to chase. The blackfish (tautog) bite continues to be red hot, you’ll have to pick thru the
numerous shorts to land a keeper but still making it prime time to target these bruisers while conditions hold steady.
On a different note, squid fishing in the harbor is off to a slower start. However, those putting in the time have been catching squid using green and bright lights hung over the gunwale of their boats. The best results have been reported from Gold Star Beach all the way down to the Mill Dam Boat Ramp.
Water temperatures in the harbor are currently ranging from 49°F to 53°F. As a seasonal shift sign, the seals are starting to show up in the area as well—something to keep an eye on during your outings!
